Since 1972 Johnny Oliva has been in the print industry. This guy has seen it all and done it all when it comes to shop work. His skill and experience are such an invaluable contribution to what we do here and his workmanship is proof to this.
Johnny became a #Voomie when his former company, CPI Office Supplies, closed down their print division. Johnny was looking for a new start and Voom was looking for a Johnny (and a drill press but mainly a Johnny). Luckily, we got both! August 18th marked the day he would start work at our shop and he has been a great asset ever since. The first 7 years he was a jack of all trades, doing most everything in the shop, including running the first 2-color press we owned, burning plates the old fashioned way or course. For the past two years, he has been trusted with running the finishing department. From trimming to folding or anything else that is asked of him, Johnny takes on the challenge.
All things must come to an end though and as good as it has been, Johnny has decided to retire from the industry on his 9th anniversary with us. As an avid weight lifter since the late 70’s, he may now have more time to get even bigger in the gym. Just in case they need a stand in for the Hulk or something…
Thanks for all you do Johnny but we are keeping the drill press. 🙂
